lagree physiotherapy rehabilitation
The Lagree Fitness Method is a Pilates based approach to strength and conditioning. The no-impact program features targeted exercises performed at a slow and controlled pace, activating slow twitch muscle fibres to build strength, endurance, core and balance. The combination of working muscles to failure and eliminating rest periods creates a workout regimen that burns the maximum number of calories in a minimal amount of time, and most efficiently develops muscle tone and strength. Best of all, the effective intensity can always be adapted, so it doesn’t matter if you’re an elite athlete or a mom returning to activity after giving birth, the method can be customized for all levels.
You can expect movements to be done slowly, in the famous Lagree 4-count, and to be blocked based on body part. Meaning, core movements are blocked together, upper body movements together and left and right legs together. This allows for complete muscle exhaustion in that body part.
Kate Roddy is a registered physiotherapist and certified Lagree Fitness Method instructor. After an assessment, these Lagree sessions can be eligible for physiotherapy health care coverage or put towards your medical expenses claimed on your Canadian tax return.
